Starting pitchers for this game have not been confirmed. However, I did my best to predict who will get the ball first for each team. All season long LSU has not had a solidified Game 3 starting pitcher. Whenever a new guy steps into the role, they have been rocked. Without Gage Jump and Luke Holman who could pitch in this matchup against Wofford? The last five Game 3s that the Tigers have played in have totaled 21, 12, 7, 18, and 12 total runs, respectively.
Camden Wicker should get the nod here for the Terriers. In his last four starts, he has had a 6.06 ERA. LSU’s offense has been rolling during these past few weeks. Expect the lineup to push across a few early runs.
Later in the game we will see two below average bullpens. Wofford has a 6.42 Weekend Bullpen ERA, and LSU possesses a 5.96. LSU’s pitching staff without it’s two top options should allow the Terriers offense (.982 Team OPS, 115 wRC+) to contribute to the over in this game.

The Red Storm hasn’t officially announced who will start today’s game. I predict that the Freshman southpaw Evan Chaffee will start. In his last four starts, he has been stellar with a 2.32 ERA. Mississippi State is only averaging 4.33 runs per game in their last nine contests. Dakota Jordan and Hunter Hines have had spurts in the Charlottesville Regional, but it has still been so cold lately.
In the first contest Hail State celebrated a walk-off home run victory against the Johnnies. Last night Mississippi State played in the night game against Virginia and lost via walk-off. Bulldogs personnel probably had a long night after their hearts were ripped out close to midnight Eastern time. Now they have to turn around and play an NCAA Baseball Tournament game at noon on the following day against a team seeking revenge. I think St. John’s is going to give MSU a run for their money today.

UC Irvine was another team that played a super late game Saturday night and now has to turn around and play a game at noon Pacific time. Additionally, the Anteaters’ bullpen is pretty taxed after their loss to Oregon State, and escaping a 12-11 thriller against Nicholls State on Friday.
If my predictions are correct of Grack and Price being UCI’s and Tulane’s starting pitchers, strong trends support my pick. The Green Wave love facing RHPs, their OPS is .891 vs RHP and just .783 vs LHP. Also, Price’s ERA over his last six appearances is 1.65.
Lastly, Tulane’s offense has been hot lately. Tulane has a 133 wRC+, while averaging 8.08 runs per game in their last 12 games. During that stretch of games the Green Wave won the AAC Tournament Title.
