In this article, I’ll provide my favorite NCAA Baseball Tournament picks when it comes to Regional futures.

Regional Futures: NCAA Baseball Tournament Picks To Bet Right Now

ATHENS Regional Futures

In my opinion, Georgia easily drew the softest regional in the entire NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Bulldogs had a shaky argument to be a top 8 but the committee gave them the No.7 overall seed. Filling out the rest of the Athens Regional is UNCW, one of the weaker offenses from a 2-seed in this year’s field, Georgia Tech, albeit a bitter rival of Georgia’s.

The Yellow Jackets were one of the last four teams into the field and went 0-2 against Georgia this year (a 3rd loss was postponed mid-game due to thunderstorms), and then the 4-seed Army, who is appearing in their 4th straight NCAA Tournament, but never really poses any real threat.

Georgia is 29-5 at Foley Field this season. They are led by Charlie Condon who is having one of the best offensive seasons in college baseball history. Earlier this season Condon broke the BB-COR record for home runs in a season. He is now at 35 through 54 games and is still racking them up. Condon isn’t just a slugger, though; he leads the country with a .443 batting average.

He is surrounded by six other teammates who have averages over .290 as well. One of those teammates is Corey Collins, who leads all of DI with a .584 on-base percentage. Overall, the Bulldogs offense has a 138 wRC+, which slots them 2nd nationally.

Should Georgia advance to a Super Regional the Dawgs would once again receive a favorable draw. UGA has already pulled off a three-game sweep over South Carolina. If the Bulldogs face the 1-seed out of the Raleigh Regional, NC State is just 7-12 SU in road games this year. When placing futures, Georgia should be one of your favorite college baseball picks.

STILLWATER Regional Futures

Oklahoma State is 15-3 in their last 18 games and 28-9 since their star slugger Nolan Schubart returned from injury in the middle of March. Schubart will be a top MLB draft prospect next year and his game receives comparisons to MLB’s Christian Yelich. The Cowboys are 9-1 in their last 10 games, scoring 8.75 runs per game and allowing just 3.33 runs per game. That is a 105-40 run differential.

The Pokes are 21-5 at home at O’Brate Stadium this season. Plus, they have two starting pitchers (Sam Garcia and Brian Holiday) who have racked up over 100 Ks this season and 7 total arms with sub 4.75 ERAs. That’s hard to match anywhere in the nation.

Florida is dealing with a handful of offensive injuries that are flying under the radar and a pitching staff that just hasn’t lived up to expectations this year. Nebraska, on the other hand, possesses a solid four-man starting rotation led by Brett Sears, who has been announced to start Game 1 against Florida.

I think he will deal with and bump the Gators into the loser’s bracket, where I don’t think they will be able to thrive. Then, the Pokes will be able to outslug the Cornhuskers in a couple of home games to win this regional. The Pokes have the ingredients for a deep postseason and/or College World Series run.

Norman Regional Futures

I cannot speak enough about how impressed I was about this Duke team steamrolling their way through the ACC Tournament. The Blue Devils won the tournament without their Ace, Jonathan Santucci, because of a rib injury. They also won the tournament without their second-most-used starting pitcher, Kyle Johnson, because they just wanted to give the Freshman a week off. Both are expected to return, as Santucci threw a public bullpen, and nothing was wrong with Johnson.

Overall, Coach Chris Pollard just has so many weapons to mix and match with out of the pen. Just think of the Blue Devils as the college baseball version of the Tampa Bay Rays. They have a genius head coach who isn’t afraid to deploy an opener while also having an offense that doesn’t contain household names, but they are able to rake from top to bottom.

Seven hitters in the lineup have batting averages over .300, and five of them have an OPS over 1.000. Ben Miller and Zac Morris are two players that could skyrocket in popularity in June.

Plus, a little added motivation from being snubbed out of hosting a regional never hurt anybody. When filling out my college baseball picks, Duke is my favorite 2-seed this year.

Santa Barbara Regional Futures

In 25 games on the brand-new surface at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium, the Gauchos have not lost. UCSB went undefeated at home for the first time in program history. In those 25 wins, UC Santa Barbara outscored opponents 206-78. This season at home, the Gauchos’ offense is slashing .311/.410/.517 as a team with 39 home runs. The pitching staff is holding opponents to a line of just .216/.284/.311 with just 14 homers.

Six UCSB hitters have an average over .300 at home, with Aaron Parker‘s .409 leading the bunch. On the mound, all three weekend starters have ERAs under 3.00. UC Santa Barbara’s stellar weekend rotation is as follows: Ryan Gallagher SO RHP: 9-1, 2.27 ERA, 93 K, 22 BB, 83.1 IP, 2.65 SIERA; Mike Gutierrez SR LHP: 9-0, 3.30 ERA, 83 K, 33 BB, 84.2 IP, 3.70 SIERA; Tyler Bremner SO RHP: 11-0, 2.63 ERA, 96 K, 19 BB, 82 IP, 2.39 SIERA; and also Matt Ager has made 8 starts this season but was moved to the pen in favor of Bremner who was having a breakout season. Ager has a 4.13 ERA with 57 K in 56.2 IP.

The Gauchos finished the season by winning 14 games in a row and 25 of 27. This team is red hot, received a favorable draw, and is super comfortable playing at Uyesaka Stadium. A starting rotation like this could carry a team all the way to the College World Series.
