Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 11
Nolan Arenado – Higher than 0.5 Total Bases
I’m not sure why the projection is coming in so low on Arenado here. He has hits in three of his last four games and is hitting .280 on the season. On top of that, he has the pleasure of facing common foe Freddy Peralta on Saturday. Arenado has 28 at-bats against the Brewers’ righty and has 10 hits (.357). Four of those hits are home runs – which makes it so I’d like this one even if it was 1.5 total bases.
Christian Scott – Higher than 4.5 Hits Allowed
Scott, who used to be a relief pitcher, has had just one outing so far in the majors. He held Tampa Bay to just one run over six innings pitched. He did allow five hits in that game, which would put him over this mark. Additionally. he’s facing the Braves, who have seemingly woken up their bats after a tough stretch. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Braves hit this number in just a couple innings against the young righty.
Bryan De La Cruz – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
Another guy who has a favorable pitching matchup is Bryan De La Cruz. He’s riding a six-game hitting streak into Saturday, with hits in nine of his last 10 as well. The Phillies send Ranger Suarez to the bump, who has had issues with De La Cruz. The Marlins slugger is 8-for-20 off of him (.400) with three extra base hits.
