Collegiate Baseball continues to grow, and it is amazing to see! One of the biggest examples of the sport’s growth has been the NCAA Baseball gambling market. College Baseball Picks April 28th
All College Baseball Bets Are To Win 1 Unit
2:00 PM +150 Mississippi State at Vanderbilt -195
PROBABLE PITCHERS
Mississippi State: Jurrangelo Cijntje SO SHP (6-1, 3.50 ERA, 69 K, 23 BB, 54 IP, 2.84 SIERA)
Vanderbilt: TBA
My general rule of thumb is that when a college baseball team has publicly stamped a TBA on their probable pitcher, I try to fade it. Vanderbilt’s first two pitchers in their rotation are Bryce Cunningham and Carter Holton. Cunningham tossed a complete game on Friday. Holton threw five innings, allowing 5 runs on Saturday. Brennan Seiber (52 PC) and Greysen Carter (6 PC) appeared in relief during the ‘Dores’ 7-4 loss.
Devin Futrell began the season as Vandy’s 3rd starter, but the combination of his lack of success and injury/soreness has removed him from the rotation. Carter was an early option as a starter. However, Commodores Head Coach Tim Corbin seems to like Carter’s explosiveness better in shorter stints out of the pen.
Last week’s Game 3 starter, JD Thompson, was ejected for having a “sticky substance” on his personnel. He was suspended for 4 games and cannot appear on Sunday. Immediately following Thompson, stud Freshman Ethan McElvain attempted to appear in relief and suffered a back injury during his rushed warmup pitches. I think Corbin is in a pinch with today’s starting pitcher.
Opposing the Vandy Boys is Mississippi State’s ambidextrous pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje. The switch-pitcher has been very solid this season and gives the Bulldogs the advantage on the mound. This won’t be automatic, as Vanderbilt is 27-4 at Hawkins Field. However, the +150 price certainly offers tremendous value in this rubber match.
+150 Mississippi State ML (DraftKings)
2:00 PM +135 Virginia Tech at North Carolina -175
PROBABLE PITCHERS
Virginia Tech: Griffin Stieg JR RHP (3-0, 3.06 ERA, 39 K, 15 BB, 32.1 IP, 3.31 SIERA)
North Carolina: Aidan Haugh JR RHP (3-2, 4.79 ERA, 45 K, 11 BB, 47 IP, 3.42 SIERA)
North Carolina is 26-1 at Boshamer Stadium this season. Do I need to say more? This price will probably climb, yes I like this pick as a parlay piece as well.
Virginia Tech started ACC play at 10-2. The Hokies had the benefit of playing four of the six ACC teams with the fewest conference wins. However, Virginia Tech has since crashed back down to Earth, enduring a 2-9 stretch in their last 11 conference games.
North Carolina has played five series at home this season. The Tar Heels have swept all five 3-game sets. I think UNC will break out the brooms once again this weekend.
