Tyler Reddick Finishing Position Over 10.5 (-130)
This is a fun way to get in on the action over on Caesars Sportsbook. I’ve been all about Tyler Reddick going into this season, and have a solid bet on him to be the 2024 champion.
However, when it comes to places like Richmond last week and now Martinsville this week. Reddick just simply isn’t very good. Next week at Texas will be a totally different story, but this week, we fade.
In his four starts in the new generation of cars at Martinsville, his best finish is 18th. That was in the spring of 2022 when he was still with Richard Childress Racing. Since then, it’s been finishes of 35th, 22nd, and 26th for Tyler Reddick. In eight career Cup Series starts here, Reddick only has one finish better than 16th place.
William Byron Over Brad Keselowski (-130)
Having these two matched up at Martinsville is a clear overreaction to Keselowski’s recent success. While he has looked great this season, he’s not been good at Martinsville in the four races in this new car. Keselowski’s finishes are 33rd, 24th, 36th and 17th.
William Byron is four for four finishing ahead of Keselowski at Martinsville in the NextGen era, and if you want to talk about hot. Byron has two wins on the season already.
His finishes at Martinsville are 13th, 23rd, and 7th. He won the spring of 2022 here, leading 212 laps that day. If you are into storylines, this weekend is also Hendrick Motorsports’ 40th anniversary. This is one to keep an eye on.
Ryan Preece Top 10 Finish (+260)
Last spring, Ryan Preece sat his #41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford in the pole position. He took the green flag and didn’t look back, leading the first 135 laps of the race. Speeding on pit road penalty would sink his day, but Preece was able to recover for a 15th-place finish.
Preece is a short, flat-track expert coming up through the modified racing scene. He’s got tons of experience, and this is his type of race to shine in. Stewart-Haas continues to show up to this type of track with tons of speed and strong top-five runs in the fall by Aric Almirola and Chase Briscoe. At this price, Preece is a steal for a top-10 finish.
Winning Team Joe Gibbs Racing (+125)
Short tracks in NASCAR right now are all about Joe Gibbs Racing. The top two favorites to win are Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. Christopher Bell, and Ty Gibbs aren’t far behind. You can make a strong case for any of these drivers to win. So, instead of making a case for one, let’s cover ourselves with all four.
Denny Hamlin is the other driver with two wins this season, winning both Richmond last week and Bristol. He’s also got a great track history here with five wins. Martin Truex Jr. was well on his way to winning last week before a late race caution cost him. Truex has three wins to his name here.
Christopher Bell has looked great on short, flat tracks, winning at Phoenix a few weeks ago. Ty Gibbs has come out swinging in his sophomore season, sitting fourth in the points standings coming into the weekend. Ty has also won here in the Xfinity Series.
