Underdog Fantasy College Basketball Picks March 21

Underdog Fantasy College Basketball Picks March 21

We’re coming into the NCAA tournament hot! Yesterday’s card was one of the easiest sweeps in the history of sweeps. However, that’s yesterday. It’s in the rearview mirror, and we’re looking forward to the first day of the first round of The Big Dance. This is one of the toughest slates to cap because we have a lot of mid-majors up against power schools, but we found some great numbers to play. Let’s dive into my Underdog Fantasy college basketball March Madness picks for March 21.

Perfect 3-0 Pick Em Entries: 5-14 (+2.6 units)

Riley Minix (Morehead State) Lower Than 29.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists

Morehead State forward Riley Minix is coming into the tournament averaging 20.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists this year. However, that was mostly accomplished in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The OVC has quality basketball, but the big men that he would face night in and night out aren’t quite the same as the Big 10. We’re looking to fade him against the Fighting Illini.

Aren’t convinced? Minix played four games against power conference schools. Minix didn’t go higher than 26, and that came against Alabama.

He was lower than 29.5 PRA against Purdue, Indiana, and Penn State. The only team he didn’t play more than 30 minutes against was the Nittany Lions, and that happened because he fouled out.

In your Underdog Fantasy college basketball pick’em entry on March 21, look to fade Minix in his first-round matchup against Illinois.

Jaden Campbell (Samford) Higher Than 1.5 Three-Pointers Made

Samford guard Jaden Campbell is coming into the tournament averaging 2.3 three-pointers made per game this year. He’s cleared 1.5 threes made in eight of his last 12 games. These are all well and good, but what makes this a tasty match up is the opponent.

Kansas is 167th in the country in opponent three-point percentage allowed. The Jayhawks don’t defend the three very well, and Samford will need to do damage from long-range to stay in this one.

This is ancient history, but Campbell went 2-for-5 from three-point range against Purdue on November 6th. It’s the only power conference matchup Samford has played this year. Campbell was one of the few guys who played well in a 53-point loss.

Chance McMillian (Texas Tech) Higher Than 11.5 Points

Texas Tech’s Chance McMillian is coming into the tournament averaging 10.9 points per game. He’s also cleared 11.5 points in four of his last five games, all against Big 12 competition.

The angle here is how poor NC State is at defending the perimeter. The Wolfpack is 243rd in the country in opponent three-point percentage. McMillian should find space.
