Fantasy Hockey Schedule Week 21: Waiver Wire Pickups & Adds (March 4 – 10)

Fantasy Hockey Schedule Week 21: Waiver Wire Pickups & Adds (March 4 - 10)

Welcome back to the weekly Fantasy Hockey waiver wire article. We’ll be taking a look at the teams with the most favorable fantasy hockey schedules and the fantasy hockey waiver wire.

It’s the first week of March and the NHL is back to its regularly-scheduled fantasy hockey schedule. Most teams are playing on Tuesday (nine games), Thursday (12), and Saturday (13). That leaves Monday (six games), Wednesday (three), Friday (four), and Sunday (five) as the lighter nights we’ll be targeting this week.

Optimizing your lineup is important in any fantasy sports league, and fantasy hockey is no different. Given the NHL’s unbalanced scheduling, there are certain teams that have better schedules on certain weeks throughout the year.

Fantasy Hockey Schedule Week 21: Waiver Wire Pickups & Adds

The Anaheim Ducks and Colorado Avalanche are the only two teams to play on three lighter nights this week.

Anaheim Ducks

  • Wednesday vs. OTT
  • Friday vs. DAL
  • Sunday vs. NYI

The Ducks only have a few fantasy-relevant players, and they could be targeted at the trade deadline.

Troy Terry (RW – 44% Rostered)

Troy Terry has been through it all during his seven years in Anaheim and is one of their more consistent forwards. He has 46 points (17 goals, 29 assists) in 56 games this season. That includes 19 points (six goals) in his last 15 games.

Terry may be overlooked due to playing in Anaheim, but he’s worth rostering for this week and perhaps beyond.

Adam Henrique (C, LW – 40% Rostered)

Adam Henrique could very well be traded by the deadline on Friday, but that could be even more reason to roster him if he’s on a better team. He has 42 points (18 goals, 24 assists) in 60 games this season after putting up 38 points in 62 games last year.

Henrique is red-hot recently with six points in his last five games but he’s also been consistently putting up points for nearly two months. He has 23 points in his last 23 games since January 7th.

Alex Killorn (LW, RW – 14% Rostered)

Alex Killorn cashed in this offseason and is getting top-line minutes with the Ducks. He only has 24 points in 42 games but five in eight since returning from injury.

Colorado Avalanche

  • Monday vs. CHI
  • Wednesday vs. DET
  • Friday vs. MIN

The Avalanche are one of the best teams, with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen rostered in 100% of leagues along with Cale Makar. But there are some diamonds in the rough.

Artturi Lehkonen (LW, RW – 50% Rostered)

Artturi Lehkonen is getting time on the top line with MacKinnon and Rantanen, and he’s taking advantage. He has 10 points in his last nine games to bring his total up to 19 points in 27 games. He’s also on the top power-play unit and needs to be rostered for this week.

Zach Parise (LW – 2% Rostered)

Veteran winger Zach Parise is worth a look in deep leagues this week. He had a three-point game in Chicago last week to get to six points in his 13 games this season. He’s still only playing on the third line, but the Avs have a favorable schedule this week, starting tonight against those Blackhawks.
