Welcome back to the weekly Fantasy Hockey waiver wire article. We’ll be taking a look at the teams with the most favorable fantasy hockey schedules and the fantasy hockey waiver wire.
The NHL has an abnormal schedule this week due to Presidents’ Day in the States and Family Day up in Canada. At least half of the league is playing on Monday (10 games), Tuesday (eight), Thursday (11), and Saturday (13), leaving Wednesday (five), Friday (three), and Sunday (seven) as the three usual lighter nights.
Optimizing your lineup is important in any fantasy sports league, and fantasy hockey is no different. Given the NHL’s unbalanced scheduling, there are certain teams that have better schedules on certain weeks throughout the year.

Fantasy Hockey Schedule Week 19: Waiver Wire Pickups & Adds
The Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, and Chicago Blackhawks all play on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday this week.
Columbus Blue Jackets
- Tuesday @ LAK
- Wednesday @ ANA
- Friday vs. BUF
- Sunday vs. NYR
Johnny Gaudreau (LW – 48% Rostered)
Johnny Gaudreau is the biggest star on the Blue Jackets and shouldn’t be overlooked for fantasy hockey purposes. He’s on an eight-game assist streak and has 12 points (all assists) in his last 11 games. Going back to December 14th, Gaudreau is nearly a point-per-game player with 22 points (19 assists) in 23 games.
Boone Jenner (C, LW – 44% Rostered)
Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner is also worth a look this week. He’s riding a three-game goal streak with a total of four goals in that span. Jenner has missed some time with injury but has 22 points (17 goals) in 38 games this season.
Yegor Chinakhov (RW – 3% Rostered)
Yegor Chinakhov has kind of come out of nowhere for Columbus. He’s up to 26 points (14 goals) in 41 games, thanks to a hot stretch recently. Chinakhov has nine points (four goals) in his last nine games.
Dmitri Voronkov (LW – 3% Rostered)
Dmitri Voronkov is another Russian winger finding success with the Blue Jackets. The rookie winger has 27 points (14 goals) in 47 games, including seven goals in his last 10 contests. He’s been fairly consistent for Columbus and should pick up a few points this week.
Buffalo Sabres
- Monday vs. ANA
- Wednesday @ MTL
- Friday @ CBJ
- Sunday vs. CAR
JJ Peterka (RW – 19% Rostered)
John-Jason Peterka is worth a look this week for the Buffalo Sabres. The German winger only has three points in his last six games, but going back to January 18th, he’s had 10 points in his last 11 contests. He’s also shooting the puck a lot, with a total of 41 shots in those 11 games.
Jordan Greenway (LW – 1% Rostered)
Jordan Greenway is making the most of his time in the top six with the Sabres. He scored on Monday for his third goal in his last four games, and he’s now up to eight points (five goals) in his last nine contests. Give him a look in deeper leagues at just 1% rostered.
Chicago Blackhawks
- Monday vs. CGY
- Thursday vs. MTL
- Sunday @ NYI
Nick Foligno (LW – 6% Rostered)
Veteran winger Nick Foligno is playing alongside phenom Connor Bedard on the top line. He’s riding a five-game point streak entering Monday night’s game and should continue to vulture some points from the talented rookie.
Philipp Kurashev (C – 3% Rostered)
Philipp Kurashev is also enjoying playing on the top line with Bedard. He, too, is riding a five-game point streak with seven points in that span.
