There’s something all of us at the Sports Gambling Podcast Network can relate to when it comes to starting a distillery. “It’s a Gamble”, John Ufford said. However, that’s exactly what he did when he started Rose City Distilling. John and his Chief Operating Officer Mark White sat down with us to talk distilling, whiskey, and even a little Rodeo.

It doesn’t take long sitting with John and Mark to learn a couple of things. First, they have great humor. They kept us laughing throughout with fun stories, from needing a Dodge for their iso-tanker of rum to drinking a little too much in Canada. Their friendship is something that jumps through the speakers as well, having worked together for so long.
They talk about Vodka, Whiskey, Gin, Rum, and more as well as talk us through how they got started in making all of them. In fact, the distillery started because John’s current employer told him no when he wanted to make Vodka.
Mark gives John a bit of a hard time, stating you almost have to be a narcissist to start a distillery on your own. John confirms that it is a gamble. However, it’s a gamble that is paying off for them at Rose City Distilling.
Their vodka, gin, and rum are priced the same as well drink. However, their recipe and way of making them are still the same as when they were selling them as a premium product. Plus, learn how a plane ride led to their Stampede Whiskey.
