Friday Night Football is here, and it means one thing: we are one day closer to the weekend. I hope this week of football went well for you, but we have some night group of five action to snack on tonight. North Texas faces off against State Rival and American leader SMU in Dallas. Wyoming heads south and takes on the Runnin’ Rebels of UNLV in Vegas. Friday Night Football time, let’s get to the picks.
Week 11 Friday Night College Football Picks
North Texas (66.5) at SMU -17
A large spread here as the North Texas Mean Green, also known as the North Texas Covering Machine, heads to Dallas. In the last few weeks, North Texas has been completely out of the games but has come up with absurd last-ditch efforts to cover spreads.
Luckily, I have been on the right side of those outcomes, but I think it is time the market catches up to them. 17 is a large number, but SMU has the firepower to do so. They will score a boatload of points on this horrible North Texas defense and are a respectable enough program not to get back doored after being up by 28 points in the third. SMU will score early and often, and if they need to score more… they will. Lay the points here because North Texas is out of gas.
The Pick: SMU -17
Wyoming (50.5) at UNLV -5.5
UNLV is sitting pretty in the Mountain West standings, but they have had an extremely favorable schedule this season. Wyoming has been through the wringer thus far but has played well against the better Mountain West teams. The Cowboys are a team that no Mountain West team wants to face, as they will be stronger and more physical than their opponent. Look for UNLV to be rattled in the trenches here and this to be a hard-fought battle till the end.
The Pick: Wyoming +5.5
