I couldn’t have a worse week of betting College Football, but hey, that will happen. Betting 365 days a year, this is part of the same. We have one more night of action before we head to the big weekend slate: Friday Night Football, baby! American Athletic Friday is on tap as Florida Atlantic heads north to take on Charlotte.
Week 9 Friday Night College Football Picks
Florida Atlantic (-3.5) at Charlotte (O/U 43)
Charlotte is a team I have been weirdly involved with over the last two weeks. We faded them as home dogs against Navy and cashed them on the money line as seven point dogs at East Carolina. It is safe to say, I know this team well. Charlotte’s strength is their defense, specifically their line. Eyabi Okie-Anoma is a game wrecker at defensive end. He transferred in from playing legit minutes at both Michigan and Alabama.
FAU is 3-4 and has played a sneaky tough schedule. Their losses are to Ohio who is one of the better MAC teams, Clemson, Illinois, and UTSA who spend a lot of time in the top 25 conversation. Boca Raton is a blossoming college sports town. They have the infastructure, talent, and the staff. Clearly they are not there yet, but good things are coming.
These teams have very similar metrics on both sides of the ball but I have to lean with the Owls. They have handled the lesser teams on their schedule and that will again be the case here. Lets finish the week on a strong note and ride with FAU.
