Underdog Fantasy Daily Pick’Em Entry – October 28
Merrill Kelly – Higher than 4.5 Strikeouts
Arizona’s Merrill Kelly will do his best to make his team get past the heartache of Game 1 by whiffing a bunch of Texas batters on Saturday. At least, that’s what I’m predicting. Kelly has 19 K’s in three playoff starts this season – five, six, and eight strikeouts in the last three games, respectively. After averaging over six punchouts per start in the regular season, Kellys should be good for at least five for us.
Corbin Carroll – Higher than 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs
The bright lights of the playoffs have not blinded Arizona rookie Corbin Carroll, as the kid continues to be a stud. He has hit safely in four straight games, but, more importantly to us and our play here, he has topped the 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs mark in three straight. Let’s keep the good times going for CC on Saturday.
Ketel Marte – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
It wasn’t the plan heading into this, but let’s make it three for three Diamondback plays for Game 2. Ketel Marte tied the MLB postseason hitting streak in Game 1, running it to 17 straight games with at least a hit. And he’s topped the 1.5 Total Bases mark in three straight games and six of seven. AND (one last and), he is slashing .500/.500/.833 for his career against Jordan Montgomery.
