Fantasy Football Dynasty Trade Value Chart – October 2023 Update

Methodology

If you haven’t reviewed our Fantasy Football dynasty trade value chart before, here’s a little on the methodology. First, our rankings system takes FantasyPros’ best, worst, and average rankings. We also throw in a little standard deviation to count all variables.

Second, you have to consider average fantasy football points per game because that’s what fantasy football is all about. Third, values will change throughout the year, especially as rookies get their fantasy football points. And last, we listened to your feedback and altered some things.

Another metric that plays with the dynasty chart is a player’s age. Somebody who is 22 will have a more weighted value than a player who is 32. Is that saying that 22-year-old players are always more talented than 32-year-olds? Absolutely not.

However, it is considered in dynasty value because, at 22, the player will likely be around longer. Considering all that and running it through our formulas, we can assign a value for each player. This value can help weigh your fantasy football trades and improve your future team!

Quarterbacks Recap

It’s no secret that on the fantasy football dynasty trade value chart, the most valuable quarterback is Patrick Mahomes. He has, knock on wood, eluded injury while remaining a top option in fantasy football. Mahomes went 1.01 in most superflex leagues, aside from those that wanted the rushing upside of Jalen Hurts or Josh Allen. By the way, how is he already 28?

Behind him are Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert, and Josh Allen. Hurts uses his big body to run and also has a cannon for an arm. The Eagles offense hasn’t looked as dominant as last year. However, he’s still a really solid fantasy football quarterback. Slightly below him are Justin Herbert and Josh Allen. Both of these young gunslingers are extremely talented passers. Allen has more rushing ability but is also a little riskier with the ball. All five of these quarterbacks are excellent building pieces in your dynasty.

Running Backs Recap

I had my doubts that Bijan Robinson would stay the top dog on the fantasy football dynasty trade value chart. However, not only has he stayed as the top running back, but he’s become the top overall player. While he’s only averaging 15.8 fantasy football points per game, he’s got all the tangibles to be the best in the league. It helps that he’s on a team that loves to run the ball.

Behind him is Breece Hall. Hall has been taken off a limited snap count in his return from injury and has shown why he’s one of the better young backs in the league. He’s had 29.9 and 17.8 points in the last two weeks.

The third spot is taken by Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey rotates in and out as one of the top running backs on the fantasy football trade value chart. There’s always one thing that gets in his way – his injury history. Now, he’s injured, and we’re waiting to see if it holds him out.

Jonathan Taylor and Travis Etienne follow him. Taylor is back on the field with a new deal from the Colts and should open up his game soon with more carries. Etienne is carrying the ball more than anybody in the league right now. If he continues to garner all these touches, he’s definitely a top-five back.

Wide Receivers Recap

Raise your hand if you’re surprised to see Justin Jefferson is the top wide receiver on the fantasy football dynasty trade value chart. Now, take that hand and smack yourself. Justin Jefferson is an alpha on the football field, as evidenced by two dominant performances. However, his injury did bring him down a point.

He’s now tied with Ja’Marr Chase. Chase started the season a little slow, mostly due to Burrow’s calf injury. However, now that he’s cooking, you can see he’s one of the best in the league still.

You can’t have Jalen Hurts at the top without including his top target. That’s where A.J. Brown comes in. He’s averaging 20.2 fantasy points per game and dominating the target share.

He’s tied with Amon-Ra St. Brown and CeeDee Lamb. St. I give A.J. Brown a slight bump due to his quarterback. Despite being very good on their respective teams, St. Brown and Lamb are only as good as their quarterback will be. Some days that’s great, others it’s not as good. However, it’s been enough to keep them in the top-five this year.

Tight Ends Recap

It goes without saying that even though he’s an old man, the reason Travis Kelce is top of this list is due to dating Taylor Swift. Okay, that’s not true. Instead, it’s the fact that he’s averaging 17.7 points per game, higher than any other tight end.

Behind them is rookie Sam LaPorta, who has become an excellent addition to the Lions. Picking up right where Hockenson left off prior to the trade.

Mark Andrews is next. He’s extremely talented, but his age brings him down ever so slightly. He is ahead of the youngster Kyle Pitts. We have seen a little bit of life out of Pitts these past couple of weeks. However, he’s still only averaging 8.8 points per game.

Lastly, we have T.J. Hockenson. To start the season, he was second on the list. Some inconsistent games from his quarterback have dropped him a little. However, I think with Jefferson out, you’ll see him jump a spot or two before November’s fantasy football dynasty trade value chart.
