We’re almost there, hockey fans – it’s almost time for the puck to be dropped. So, it’s almost time to draft your fantasy hockey team. And it’s definitely time to start researching. We’ve already broken down our top 100 fantasy hockey forwards for 2023/24, as well as our top 50 defensemen. So, now it’s time for our top 50 fantasy hockey goalie rankings! Let’s go!

2023/24 Fantasy Hockey Goalie Rankings
1 | Ilya | Sorokin | NYI |
2 | Jake | Oettinger | DAL |
3 | Igor | Shesterkin | NYR |
While coming to a consensus on the top fantasy hockey forward (Connor McDavid) and top fantasy hockey defenseman (Cale Makar) wasn’t difficult at all, that’s not the case with the goalies. Either of the three men listed above – the Islanders’ Ilya Sorokin, Dallas’ Jake Oettinger, and the Rangers’ Igor Shesterkin could be the first goaltender off of the board (actually, I haven’t seen Oettinger ranked first anywhere, but he’s consistently listed at #2). I’d be comfortable taking Sorokin as my first goalie, as he’s a shutout machine.
4 | Andrei | Vasilevskiy | TBL |
5 | Alexandar | Georgiev | COL |
6 | Connor | Hellebuyck | WPG |
7 | Linus | Ullmark | BOS |
8 | Juuse | Saros | NSH |
9 | Filip | Gustavsson | MIN |
Boston is such a powerhouse that even though Linus Ullmark is pretty much in a goaltending timeshare with Jeremy Swayman, he’s still one of the top-ranked goalies in fantasy hockey. And he was good enough to win the Vezina Award last season. Andrei Vasilevskiy had a down year by his standards last season, so you may be able to steal him later than normal in your draft.
10 | Ilya | Samsonov | TOR |
11 | Jeremy | Swayman | BOS |
12 | Thatcher | Demko | VAN |
13 | Vitek | Vanecek | NJD |
14 | Stuart | Skinner | EDM |
15 | Tristan | Jarry | PIT |
16 | Frederik | Andersen | CAR |
17 | Sergei | Bobrovsky | FLA |
18 | Joonas | Korpisalo | OTT |
19 | Darcy | Kuemper | WSH |
20 | Jacob | Markstrom | CGY |
I’ve seen some outlets rank Darcy Kuemper at #10 among goalies, so once again, the rankings of goalies in fantasy hockey are all over the map. Hopefully, you’ve already grabbed your #1 goalie by the time you get here. But, as mentioned above, the Bruins will surely still be elite this year, so there’s value in Jeremy Swayman, even if he’s going to see less ice time than teammate Linus Ullmark.
21 | Devon | Levi | BUF |
22 | Carter | Hart | PHI |
23 | Adin | Hill | VGK |
24 | Cam | Talbot | LAK |
25 | Ville | Husso | DET |
26 | Marc-Andre | Fleury | MIN |
27 | Logan | Thompson | VGK |
28 | Pyotr | Kochetkov | CAR |
29 | Antti | Raanta | CAR |
30 | Karel | Vejmelka | ARI |
Godspeed to you if you are still looking for a goalie when you hit this tier. Carter Hart and Devon Levi are at least young, so there’s potential for breakout years for them. But the goaltending space gets really sparse once you get past the elite tiers of goalies. And if you’re looking for a quality goalie on the waiver wire during the season, it’s a real crapshoot.
