Mookie Betts is in a dogfight for the National League MVP award, so you have to think he’s going to bring his A-game every time he steps on the field. He’s topped 9.5 fantasy points twice in his last three games, going for 14, eight, and 29 points over that span. While he’s never faced Friday’s starter, George Kirby, the Mariners starter, hasn’t been that sharp over his last four starts.
Trea Turner – Philadelphia – Higher than 9.0 Fantasy Points
Apparently, all it took was some love (in the form of a standing ovation) to snap Trea Turner out of his funk because he looks like his old self for Philadelphia now. He went 0-for in his last game, but before that, he posted 26 and 13 fantasy points in his previous two games. He’ll be facing Zack Thompson on Friday, who has certainly been hittable this season.
Cristian Javier – Houston – Higher than 2.5 Earned Runs
The Kansas City Royals suck, but they’ve won three of their last five! But, more importantly, they averaged eight runs scored over that stretch. And Cristian Javier hasn’t allowed lower than 2.5 earned runs over his last five starts and seven of his last eight starts. Let’s roll the dice on K.C. continuing their scoring tear.
