PFL 6 Predictions
July 1st, 2022
Overtime Elite Arena, Atlanta, Georgia

While the PFL playoff seedings are set for four of the six weight classes, we turn our attention to the welterweight and women’s lightweight divisions this weekend.  Both weight classes will have their second and final regular-season fights this Friday at PFL 6.  Prelims start at 5:00 pm Eastern and the main card starts at 8:00 pm. Here are my PFL 6 predictions and betting guide.

Preliminary Card: ESPN+ 5:00 pm EST

Genah Fabian vs. Larissa Pacheco

I like the underdog here in Genah Fabian. I think she can carry this fight to the scorecards. The thing is with Larissa Pacheco, if she doesn’t get you out in the first or second round, she starts to fade, and I think Fabian can take advantage of that with her Muay Thai. Give me Genah Fabian on the ML at +310.

Jarrah Al-Silawi vs. Magomed Umalatov

Magomed Umalatov is the play all day. Another fight where I think it can go the distance. I think Jarrah Al-Silawa is a tough enough fighter to last three rounds with Umalatov, but with how Magomed can ride his opponent out and apply his body pressure, he has the advantage. I think this fight has the makings to go all three rounds. To stay undefeated, give me Magomed Umaltov via decision at +180.

Main Card ESPN/ESPN+ 8:00 pm EST

Magomed Magomedkerimov vs. Joao Zeferino

Speaking of Magomed, we have Magomed Magomedkerimov leading off the main card against Joao Zeferino. Magomed is a very big favorite, but I have a way to reduce the juice. I like Magomed early in this fight. I think he’ll be able to catch Joao in either the first or second round, maybe with a guillotine, but I do think Magomed will be able to get the back of Joao and finish the fight. Give me Magomed to finish this fight inside the distance at +175.

Brett Cooper vs. Ray Cooper III

Ray Cooper III is coming off a tough loss in his last performance, but I think we see a bounce back from him against a struggling Brett Cooper, who is just 2-3 in his last five fights. I think Cooper III catches Brett and gets the knockout, maybe in the second round. Since Ray Cooper III is a huge favorite, you might want to look toward a round prop – I think there is some value in over 1.5 rounds at +120. Or you might want to play it safe and add Cooper III in your ML parlay. I like that as well.

Rory MacDonald vs. Sadibou Sy

I love me some Rory MacDonald, ever since I saw him fight Robbie Lawler the second time around. Always respected and loved what he brought to the sport. I think he is a warrior and he’s a huge favorite for a reason. Now, Sadibou is only 10-6-2 and his last four fights have gone the distance. So, he is tough enough to last three rounds, the question is, does he have enough to knock off Rory MacDonald? I don’t believe so; I think MacDonald can stay on the outside with his leg kicks and win this fight. Give me Rory MacDonald to win via decision at +125.

Kayla Harrison vs. Kaitlin Young

Kayla Harrison was supposed to fight Julia Budd but after Budd pulled out of the fight, Kaitlin Young gets a shot at the great Kayla Harrison. I’ll make this short and sweet – don’t think about it too much. Kayla Harrison first-round finish. Whatever way, however which way she wants. Young has now lost two fights in a row; I think this is a really bad spot for her against an undefeated Harrison. Since Harrison is such a heavy favorite, it was really hard to find some value but if you want to make a parlay and include Kayla Harrison via inside the distance (-425) or U1.5 rounds (-225), I do think this fight will end very early with Harrison finishing Young.
