TBT Championship Daily Picks and Odds Semifinals

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) opened up their championship weekend in Dayton and it was exactly as advertised. We saw two one-seeds in the Golden Eagles and Sideline Cancer get sent home. Now we are guaranteed to see a new TBT champion be crowned. Boeheim’s Army looks to finally capture the million dollars and Blue Collar U is trying to become TBT champions in their first year. Let’s dive into the semifinal games and see which teams have the best chance of making it to the championship.

TBT Championship Daily Picks and Odds Semifinals

(3) Boeheim’s Army -3.5 vs (5) Florida TNT 12 pm EST

Boeheim’s Army is getting closer and closer to finally capturing the TBT championship that has eluded them for so long. Their offseason moves played a pivotal part as Tyrese Rice finished last game with 20 points as their leading scorer. And while DJ Kennedy only had three points, he hit a very clutch late shot that pushed Boeheim’s Army even closer. Kennedy has not scored much this tournament but his team-leading seven rebounds per game have been crucial.

Florida TNT cruised to a win over the Aftershocks. They had a simple but effective game plan. Pass the ball and score in the paint. And the Aftershocks could never respond. The lead slowly grew and grew until they were up 20. They had three players score over 15 points and two more in double figures. Former NBA Champion Dominique Jones is averaging 15.5 points this tournament. Chris Warren has also solidified himself as one of the more prolific scorers in TBT, scoring over 16 points per game.

Florida TNT is a very scary team in this tournament. They can score the basketball on all levels and have no issue running up the score. But this Boeheim’s Army team is starting to finally gel. They always seem to start slow, but then find their stride in the second half. I am betting on the same thing happening and rolling with the Syracuse alumni team in the TBT semifinals. I would also look at their future to win the entire TBT championship at +125.

The Pick: Boeheim’s Army -3.5

(6) Team 23 -1.5 vs (6) Blue Collar U 2:30pm EST

A battle of the six seeds. Who would have expected this in TBT 2021? Team 23 has looked like they have been under-seeded the entire tournament. They are a squad full of hoopers and multiple players can go off for them at any point. That is what makes them so hard to guard because teams have no idea who to key in on for that game. Raphiael Putney leads Team 23 in scoring and rebounds. And Walt Lemon Jr. is an absolute bucket that can get going at any time.

Blue Collar U was a pleasant surprise in the tournament. The Buffalo alumni team has grit and fights hard in every single game. They hustle and have that natural chemistry of a team of guys coming from the same system. Without Wes Clark, Nick Perkins stepped up big for them and finished their quarterfinal game with 23 points. And CJ Massinburg is averaging 12.5 points in this tournament.

Team 23 just has too many options in this matchup for Blue Collar U to handle. I do not expect Blue Collar U to go away lying down but Team 23 has enough offense that if they enter the Elam Ending with a lead they can push towards the end. I would also sprinkle on Team 23 at +245 to win the TBT championship.

The Pick: Team 23 -1.5
