NFL Week 14 Referee Stats Report

Week 13 is in the books; my referee leans went 3-1. Again, I will keep this as a weekly reminder this report, and stats should not be the only handicapping tool and should not be blindly tailed. There are great matchups for Week 14. Let me dive into this week’s report. As the saying goes if it is not broken, do not fix it!

Craig Wrolstad

As mentioned Wrolstad in the Week 13 NFL Referee Stats report as a referee in which home teams against the spread have not done well. In fact, in the 12 games officiated by Wrolstad, home teams are 3-9 (25%) against the spread. Last week, Wrolstad was the referee in the Giants shocking victory over the Seahawks. Lastly, Wrolstad is assigned to the Thursday Night Super Bowl 53 rematch between the New England Patriots vs Los Angeles Rams.

Clete Blakeman

Blakeman continues the hot trend of being an Over referee. As a matter of fact, Blakeman is 10-1 to the Over averaging an astonishing 58.5 points per game! As a result, the total average is #1 among NFL referees by an average of three points. Furthermore, home teams are averaging 31 points per game and road teams are averaging 27 points per game. Lastly, Blakeman is assigned to the Colts vs Raiders matchup this week. The total in this game is 51.5

Alex Kemp

I tweeted out a stat that I came across for a particular set of referees. Among them is Alex Kemp. Kemp ranks third among all NFL referees in pass interference called by yardage. As a result, Kemp has a 9-3 record to the Over averaging 54 points per game. Furthermore, home teams are 8-4 straight up and 7-5 against the spread. Kemp is assigned to the NFC North matchup between the Packers and the Lions.

Ron Torbert

Ron Torbert has two significant data points thus far this season. First, home teams are 9-3 straight up and 8-4 against the spread. Second, the average total in Torbert officiated games is a league low of only 39 points per game. As a result, the total is 9-3 to the Under. Furthermore, road teams are averaging only 16 points per game! In times where the causal fans want to see a lot of points scored, we do not get that in games officiated by Torbert.
