Bears vs Bucs
Defense
Both of these teams defenses are top-10 in key stats. Bears are the #7 ranked defense in yards per play allowed (5.2), #7 in points allowed per game (21.2), #6 in opponent yards per pass attempt (6.5). Bucs rank #4 in yards per play allowed (5.1), #4 in yards per game allowed (312), league best in rushing yards per attempt (2.7), and #2 in rushing yards allowed per game (64.2). With a short week to prepare, points will be at a premium in this Thursday Night game.
Best Bet: Under 44.5
Panthers vs Falcons
Atlanta has their first division game against Carolina on Sunday. It’s desperation mode time for the Falcons. They should at least be a .500 team if it wasn’t for the mental lapses they had in the fourth quarter against the Cowboys and Bears.
Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last six matchups against the Panthers averaging 27 points per game. They should be getting players back on the defensive side. If there’s an opportunity for Falcons to get their first win of the season, it’s Sunday against the Panthers.
Best Bet: Falcons ML
Vikings vs Seahawks
Offense
Seahawks have been rolling thru the first four weeks of the season averaging 35.6 points per game. They are ranked #2 in yards per play (6.7), #1 in yards per pass attempt (9.4), and #1 is passing touchdowns per game (4).
Vikings offense is also finding itself. They rank #4 in yards per play (6.4), #5 in yards per pass attempt (8.8), #3 in rushing yards per attempt (5.3), and are averaging 26.5 points per game.
Defense
As great as the offenses are, the defenses are equally worse. Seahawks are ranked #29 in yards per play allowed (6.5), #29 in opponent yards per pass attempt (8.0), and dead last in opponent passing yards per game (401). They also rank #21 in points per game allowed (27.2).
The Vikings’ defense ranks #25 in opponent yards per play (6.1), #31 in opponent yards per pass attempt (#31), and #29 in passing yards per game allowed (291.8). They are also #26 in points per game allowed (31.2). We should see a shootout on Sunday Night Football.
Best Bet: Over 57.5
