NFL DFS Week 5 Pivot Plays - Capper's Corner!

Welcome back degens! Are we ready to chase the dragon again this week?

Last week, there were clear pivot spots. This week, not so much. Most of the ownership is spread evenly to the high-priced RBs and WRs. So, we will identify some true pivot plays, but also look to be contrarian in other ways.

There are three games everyone will want to target due to the high point total: AZ/CIN, TB/NO and ATL/HOU. We’ll look to see how we can get a piece of those games in ways that can differentiate us from the crowd while using dailyroto.com projections. Let’s get after it!

QBs

The Chalk: Watson $6700, Prescott $6000

The Pivot:

Matt Ryan $5900

If everyone is going to be on Watson, give me Ryan for $800 dollars cheaper. I understand Matty Ice is one of the most inaccurate nick names of all time (28-3!), but he has thrown for over 300 yards in every game this year and multiple TDs in three.

After a game where he threw for no TDs, he’s coming in at sub 5% ownership. It’s a good spot to get a piece of one the highest total games of the week.

RBs

The Chalk: Fournette $6400, CMAC $8700, Zeke $8300

The Pivots:

Mark Ingram $6400

Coming off a no TD game, no one is on Ingram and everyone is on Fournette. Ingram is going against the Steelers, who have given up over 330 yards and 3 TDs over the last 3 weeks to RBs. You can get Ingram at less than 4% ownership in what is always a nasty physical AFC North game.

David Montgomery $5200

This isn’t a true pivot. This is a week where everyone is plugging at least one high priced RB.

So, if you are going to have at least one Escalade, if not two, here is a nice cheap option to pair with them. I know he’s not spectacular, but his snaps and touches have gone up every week. This is in London, on that terrible turf, so that hurts the involvement of Sean’s boy Tarik Cohen.

The defense and running the ball should be Chicago’s game plan and I’m shocked he’s coming in sub 4%.

WRs

The Chalk: DHOP $7800 and Fuller $4500, Allen $7300, Thomas $6600, Julio $7700, Auden Tate $3500

The Pivots:

Chris Godwin $6900

He has been an absolute beast to start the year. However, since he’s on a team with Mike Evans, the ownership gets split. Nice for us if we choose correctly.

It’s a great spot to take advantage of a high total and sub 10% ownership. Unlike Evans, he doesn’t need to break a big one to rack up the points.

Robby Anderson $4500

This makes me physically ill to write, but what exactly is the difference between him and Fuller? Not that much.

Both need a big play to make it happen any given week. Obviously, something named Falk versus Watson isn’t exactly an even playing field but why not take the shot that Watson keeps missing Fuller, and Anderson cashes in at sub 2%.

KeeSean Johnson $3500

Everyone is all over Tate for good reason; he’s a monster of a man with 16 targets the last two weeks. Honestly, he is probably the best value play on the slate.

But with Ross going on IR, what about Johnson? The Cardinals are terrible against the TE but they actually aren’t too bad against opposing WRs. You know who is? The Bengals. With Byrd and Kirk out, he’s the last man standing behind old man Fitz with a team trying to run the most plays every week.
