Week 6 AAF Preview and Picks

Last week I responded from my first losing week in the AAF by posting a nice 4-0 ATS record. There’s only 4 games all weekend so yes I went undefeated in the betting the new league.

MEMPHIS EXPRESS @ SALT LAKE CITY STALLIONS  – SATURDAY 1 PM

The Stallions were most likely the better team last week against the San Diego Fleet but they turned the ball over so much they just couldn’t grab the win despite out gaining the Fleet.

The Memphis Express are coming off a loss to the Atlanta Legends but they were in the game with a chance to win and well that’s a start.

Prediction: Salt Lake City Stallions 22 Memphis Express 17

ARIZONA HOTSHOTS @ ORLANDO APOLLOS – SATURDAY 5 PM

The Orlando Apollos are simply playing at a much higher level than the rest of the league. Garrett Gilbert leads the league in passing and Charles Johnson and Jalin Marshall are pretty unstoppable at the wideout spot.

The Arizona Hotshots haven’t been the same since QB John Wofford was knocked out of the game at Salt Lake City. Last week Wofford had three picks in the first half and they still almost won the game.

Prediction: Orlando Apollos 37 Arizona Hot Shots 22

SAN ANTONIO COMMANDERS @ ATLANTA LEGENDS – SUNDAY 1 PM

The Commanders are coming off a couple nice road wins and the strength of this team appears to be on the defensive side of the ball. Logan Woodside is steadily improving at the QB position and that could make the Commanders the team to beat in the west.

The Atlanta Legends were on the verge of being the laughing stock of the AAF until they brought in backup QB Aaron Murray who’s undefeated as a starter and has the Legends on a nice two game winning streak.

Prediction: San Antonio Commanders 25 Atlanta Legends 18

BIRMINGHAM IRON @ SAN DIEGO FLEET SUNDAY 5PM

The Fleet really showed up on defense last week getting two defensive touchdowns against the Salt Lake City Stallions but I’m not sure they can count on that every week. The offense struggled some since QB Philip Nelson broke his collarbone and has now been ruled out for the season.

The Birmingham Iron are coming off back to back losses and were once thought of as a AAF contender. The Iron benched Luis Perez and backup Keith Price really got the offense moving but the damage was a bit too much. The Iron defense has held its own against the elite of the AAF and I expect them to do the same on Sunday.

Prediction: Birmingham Iron 26 San Diego Fleet 23
