Breeders Cup Bombs For SAT 10/31 With Jeb Besecker | Bottom Line Bombs Recap
CJ Sullivan (@CJSullivan_) brings horse owner the guest onto a live Friday bonus show for Breeders Cup picks on Saturday’s card, and the guest cashes Emphatic in real time. T.O. Elvis in the Sprint is the guest’s best bet, and both of them land on Knightsbridge in the Classic.
Friday Bonus Plays: Emphatic, Sun Goddess And Jackie And Ginger
The Friday bonus show went live while day one of the Breeders’ Cup was still running, so the first picks came in real time. Horse owner the guest called in between races with the form in front of him. His top Friday play was Sun Goddess, the nine in the eighth race, with Ryan Moore aboard. Then he got emphatic about Emphatic, the 10 in the seventh race, with Tyler Gaffalione riding for Brendan Walsh. Foxiest, from Brad Cox and Junior Alvarado, was his sneaky play in that same race. And Lexi’s Charm got a mention as a 15 to 1 throw-in.
The guest also had a fresh winner of his own to talk about. Jackie and Ginger, a Jack Christopher filly, won at Keeneland by almost 11 lengths. The funny part is that he wasn’t even betting her. His trainer, Joe Sharp, loved the horse but called her cranky, and they had thought about scratching her. So the guest pointed CJ Sullivan toward other horses that day while his own filly ran away from the field. She then had a minor cleanup on her legs ahead of a planned sale. The hope is that she comes back strong after 60 to 90 days, so keep her name handy.
Saturday Breeders Cup Picks Start With T.O. Elvis
Then the show turned to Saturday, and the guest didn’t waste any time on his best bet of the day. It’s T.O. Elvis, the 11 in race eight, the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. He touted this horse on Derby Day, and it hasn’t run since. Englishman is the top pick and will take all the money, but the guest says T.O. Elvis is going to kick his ass. CJ Sullivan is all in too, and he points out that Englishman drew the outside post. That is also why the price should hold up. CJ figures T.O. Elvis goes off somewhere around 3 to 1 or 4 to 1, and the plan is to shove it all on him to win. The guest added that you can bet the place as well. Back up the truck.
Emphatic Cashes On A Live Sweat
Back on Friday, the seventh race went off in the middle of the show, so the chat got a real live sweat. The guest put 200 across the board on Emphatic and 25 on Foxiest. Then he built exactas with Emphatic on top. Underneath he used Foxiest, Miss Monica, Lexi’s Charm, Manuka Honey, Voyager and Domain Expansion. He also showed a $100 daily double, 10-9, which ties Emphatic to Sun Goddess. Emphatic opened up in the stretch. Miss Monica made up a lot of ground late and almost caught her, but the 10 held on. The only catch was that the guest placed the bet in his personal account instead of his contest account. That contest is the BC BC, a $10,000 entry with 7,500 of it as live money, and he plays it with a partner.
Dirt Mile And Turf Sprint Angles
Race six on Saturday is the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, and this is where the two split. Further Ado is the favorite, with Bracket Buster right there with him. The guest is going in strong on Bracket Buster. But CJ Sullivan wants the price on Chunk of Gold, the four. He’s a G2 Churchill Stakes winner with young jockey Jamie Torres aboard, and he is cutting back in distance. Even the guest admitted the pattern on Chunk of Gold looks fantastic. So the case is simple. If Chunk of Gold breaks, he might never look back, and he pays a lot more than Bracket Buster when he does.
Race five, the Turf Sprint, is loaded with early speed. CJ has two plays here. Comanche Brave, the seven, is around 3 to 1 and the favorite. Sorrento Sky, the 12, was sitting at 12 to 1, so that is the value side of the 7-12 pairing. The guest went a different way for fun with Joe Schiste, the 11. He has raced four times at Keeneland with two wins and a third, and the guest thinks he gets out clean. The guest also loves Sorrento Sky as a horse. But he isn’t a fan of Rispoli, and he doesn’t think the numbers are good enough. As for sneaky jockeys, he named Kendrick Carmouche and Luis Saez.
Knightsbridge In The Classic, Nitrogen In The Distaff
The guest had to hang up after the contest mix-up, but he left his pick for the Breeders’ Cup Classic first. With Magnitude scratched, he is going with Luis Saez and Knightsbridge, the seven. CJ loves the Puma, the four, and already has a bet on him. But he is tailing the guest on Knightsbridge. He is also fading Forever Young, who is now the favorite. Sovereignty and Golden Tempo are in the field too, so this is a deep race. The Classic is race 12, the last one on the card, and Knightsbridge is the number to remember.
CJ Sullivan added one more of his own in race 10, the Distaff. It’s a G1 with a $2 million purse, run at a mile and an eighth on the dirt. Nitrogen, the two, is the clear class here, with Ortiz riding for trainer Mark Casse. But CJ won’t bet a favorite just to win. So he is using her on top of an exacta. The original ticket was the two over Fully Subscribed and Splendora, the four and the eight. Then the chat flagged Splendora as scratched. That leaves Nitrogen over Fully Subscribed, two over four.
Scott Bowser’s Daily Double Sweat And The Madden Movie
Scott Bowser then joined from his North Las Vegas place to sweat the daily double, and he gave a full tour of the apartment while everyone waited. He also had the Emphatic exacta with the seven and the five underneath, and that seven was 21 to 1. Meanwhile, Sun Goddess had been bet down to 4 to 5, so the price on the nine was gone. That’s why Bowser pitched a degen angle. The 14, 15 and 16 were all 99 to 1 from the outside, and he wanted to sprinkle them under the nine. CJ never tells anyone not to bet something, so tuck them in.
CJ closed with a Man in a Box segment on the John Madden movie. The internet is ripping Nicolas Cage for not sounding like Madden, and CJ thinks that’s the wrong complaint. He would rather have Cage play it as Cage, because there is a reason Rich Little never became an Oscar-winning actor. Caliendo can do the voice, but an impression is not acting. CJ still expects a terrible movie, though. It looks like another corporate origin story in the mold of the Nike movie. The scene where Madden explains there are 11 guys on the field tells you everything.
