Football Pick of the Day (October 21st): NFL Week 7 Total Bet
New England Patriots vs Chicago Bears
8:15pm – Thursday – October 22nd
The rematch of Super Bowl XX comes to us on Thursday with the Patriots heading to Soldier Field. That game saw 56 points on the board, and the books are expecting the rematch to have similar volume.
The total line is set at 50.5 and it makes a lot of sense to me that we hit the over. The Patriots are riding a three-game win streak, but have still been faltering on defense. Over that span, they’ve allowed 20.7 points per game. Meanwhile, Drake Maye and gang haven’t scored less than 26 points since that atrocious loss to Jacksonville in Week 3. If their paces keep up, the over will be right there.
The Bears should be able to help that as well. They have had issues scoring the ball when Caleb Williams is not on the field, but have cruised when it was. In the games that he has both started and finished, they are averaging 45.0 points per game. They may not put up those kinds of numbers on the Patriots, but they should provide us their fair share of this total.
