Football Pick of the Day (September 23rd): NFL Week 3 Spread Pick
Atlanta Falcons vs Green Bay Packers
8:15pm – Thursday – September 24th
On yesterday’s pick of the day, we predicted that the Falcons offense will have a bit more firepower than it had in the first two weeks. They’ll move on from a banged up Cooper Rush to a touch more healthy Michael Penix Jr. Despite receiving that upgrade, there is still not a ton to like about the Falcons right now.
For starters, their defense has really left a lot to be desired. They gave up 34 points at home to the Panthers and that’s with Carolina seemingly letting off the gas in the 4th quarter. On top of that, Bijan Robinson’s yards per carry is running about a yard behind his average last year. So even with a little of the pressure taken off with Penix back in the fold, the projections still expect them to be behind.
On the other side of things, Jordan Love seemed to have a down week against the Jets. However, with as good as he looked against the Vikings in Week 1, the bounceback is inevitable here. If that version of Love is in attendance, this should be a beat down and they should cover easily.
