Every time the Red Sox step on the field, they’re giving us NRFI hits. They did so on Sunday with Payton Tolle notching an immaculate inning. We’ll look for more success as we start a new week. We have some NRFI bets for September 14.
Monday is a thin docket of games with just 10 total throughout the day. That’s plenty to find some winners though. Come check out what we have cooked up for this slate of games.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – September 14
Detroit Tigers vs. Toronto Blue Jays
First Pitch – 7:07 pm EST
Rogers Centre – Toronto, ON
Broadcast – MLB TV
Kicking off the NRFI action on Monday is Jose Soriano, who will look to limit this Detroit lineup. He’s been solid since being flipped to the Blue Jays at the deadline. He has held opponents to three or less runs in six of seven starts since the move. That’s helped to keep his ERA down at 3.48 for the season. Now he has a chance to lower that even further with the Tigers coming to town. They rank below average in nearly every offensive metric that helps to determine NRFI success.
The bottom of the inning should be even less of a sweat for NRFI bettors. Toronto ranks 29th in first inning scoring on the season and somehow are much worse across the game as a whole. They rank dead last in the majors in runs per game with just 4.03. That’s good news for Troy Melton, who is toeing the rubber to kick off the week. He has a 2.42 ERA on the year. Considering that we’d take a pitching machine to get the Blue Jays out in the first inning, that’s good enough for us.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for September 14: No (TBD)
Miami Marlins vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
First Pitch – 9:40 pm EST
Chase Field – Phoenix, AZ
Broadcast – MLB TV
Corbin Burnes is going to return to the mound for just the second time this season and first time at home. He looked solid in his first run out there – logging 3.0 innings and not allowing a single run. He also picked up a couple of strikeouts and looked like he might be resembling something similar to his old self. The Marlins are an easy team to find your footing against being that they really struggle early on in the game. They rank 25th in first inning scoring and haven’t scored a first inning run in a week.
To close out the NRFI, we get one of the few teams that have scored less runs than the Marlins in the first inning. They rank 27th in that category and have been similarly futile as of late. Now they have to deal with Sandy Alcantara, who did get shelled last time out. However, his ERA still sits in the top 25 of the majors and he has big strikeout stuff. That should be enough to get us through three quick outs.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for September 14: No (TBD)
Bonus Pick: Mariners/Angels NRFI (TBD)
