Arkansas travels west to Salt Lake City to take on Utah, with the Utes laying 13.5 and the total set at 56.5. It’s a late one, kicking at 8:15 local time under the lights. The guys dug into this matchup on the College Football Picks Week 2 show, and it didn’t take them long to agree.
Arkansas vs Utah Odds
Utah is laying 13.5 at home with the total at 56.5. On the moneyline the guys had the Utes at -550 and Arkansas coming back at +400.
Our Picks
All three sides landed in the same spot: Utah -13.5. Sean Green (@SeanTGreen), Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric), and Colby Dant (@thecolbyd) all took the Utes to cover.
The altitude was the anchor of the case. On the show they made the point that schools heading out west tend to wear down, and Salt Lake City sits well above Fayetteville. Stack a late 8:15 local kick on top of that, and Arkansas is fighting the body clock before it fights Utah.
The Arkansas tape didn’t help. The guys pointed to head coach Ryan Silverfield calling last week’s win “one of the worst offensive performances that I’ve been a part of,” a 31-14 result over an FCS team where the Hogs sat scoreless at halftime and managed 2.3 yards per carry. Utah’s second team, by contrast, looked sharp against a lowly Idaho. They figured the Utes smash here, floating something like 38-14.
The look-ahead spots sealed it: Arkansas has Georgia next while Utah gets Utah State, so nobody’s overlooking this one. As the guys put it, beating an SEC team at home is the trophy, so lay the points.
