College Football Picks Week 2 Recap
Sean Green (@SeanTGreen) and Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric) are handing out college football Week 2 picks. The board runs 18 games, from Oklahoma at Michigan to Ohio State at Texas. They are joined by Colby Dant (@thecolbyd) of The College Football Experience. Then the guys run the full slate and close with their locks, dogs, and teasers.
The College Football Week 2 Picks They Fight Over
Week 2 came out chalky in the room. Of the 18 games on the board, 15 landed unanimous, so the three that split carry the real arguments. Oklahoma at Michigan is the headliner. Sean kept it simple: a 6.5-point home dog in a game with a 43.5 total is too many points, so close your eyes and bet Michigan. But Ryan handicaps it by one of his oldest staples, fade the team that just stormed the field, and that puts him on Oklahoma minus 6.5. Colby is right there with him. Sean’s last word on it said everything: “I refuse to believe gambling’s this easy. Give me Michigan.”
Alabama at Kentucky split the same way. Both hosts lay the 10.5 with Bama. Colby wants no part of it and grabs Kentucky plus the points. Then Memphis at Boise State rounds out the fights. Sean is all over Boise State minus 7.5 at home, and Colby lays it too because he thinks Boise blows them out. But Ryan takes Memphis plus 7.5 and notes there are 8.5s out there worth shopping for.
The Smash Plays On The Board
Ohio State plus 1.5 in Austin is the loudest bet of the night. All three are on the Buckeyes against a Texas team laying 1.5 at minus 118 on the moneyline, with a 48.5 total. Sean even looked up that Ryan Day is roughly 2-3 against the spread as a dog and stayed on the pick anyway. Temple plus 23.5 against Penn State was another group play, with Colby sprinkling the Temple first-half moneyline on top. Iowa State plus 14.5 in the Cy-Hawk game got the Army-Navy treatment from Ryan: in a rivalry like this, you just take the double digits. And Minnesota at plus a half point over Mississippi State is a PJ Fleck special. He is 11-8-2 against the spread as a home dog.
So the night ends the way it always does, with the Locks, Dogs & Teasers round. Colby showed up with four locks, a dog and a teaser, an offer strong enough that the hosts said so out loud. Hawaii minus 9.5 made his locks list, and Minnesota beating Mississippi State went in right behind it, with the room signing off on both the moment he said them. Nobody argued.
