Colorado Rockies vs Washington Nationals

These are strange days in baseball. I made the Chicago White Sox my best bet on Wednesday and cashed my bet. For Thursday, the Washington Nationals are going to be my play. While the Nationals haven’t had quite the dramatic turnaround this season as the Sox have, they are still enjoying their best year since they won the franchise’s only World Series in 2019.

This four-game series against the Colorado Rockies has been an up-and-down one for Washington. After blowing the doors off the Rockies in Game 1 by a 13-3 count, the Nationals have dropped back-to-back games to Colorado, the last by a 13-1 score. Ouch. With the season series now tied at 3-3, tomorrow afternoon is the rubber match.

And I like the home side’s chances at walking away the winner of the game and the season series. Colorado is a bad road team, which makes the past two games a bit of an aberration, with their 25-43 away mark the fourth worst in the majors. Plus, the Rockies send Gabriel Hughes out to the mound to start tomorrow, and he has yet to win a game this season (0-5; the team is only 2-7 in games he’s started).

The Washington Nationals on an almost pick ’em moneyline is my best bet for Thursday.
