While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we keep it domestic for PFL Tampa from Florida for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: PFL Tampa
PFL Lightweight Fight: Dakota Bush vs Morquez Forest
Card Start Time: Saturday (8/22), 5:30pm EST (ESPN)
PFL turns to a slew of UFC veterans to fill out their main card on Saturday. Former UFC champion Cris Cyborg fights in her retirement fight against former UFC challenger Ketlen Vieira. Daniel Marcos also makes his debut in the promotion and we see another Taila Santos fight as well. However, one of the hottest fighters with a UFC past is buried on the prelims.
Dakota Bush has been on an incredible run since being cut by the UFC. He’s undefeated in eight fights since leaving, which includes a pair of wins over former UFC fighters. To add to matters, he’s found his ability to finish lately. He’s letting go with his hands and has finished three of his last four opponents. That includes a heat seeking missile that knocked out Robert Watley in his last bout.
He now draws Morquez Forest, who is a former CFFC champion. He actually lost that bout to Bush’s last opponent, Robert Watley, when he ran out of gas late. Forest was already the lesser of the two strikers in that equation, which means this should be easier for Bush. Despite all that, he’s listed at a very playable -175, which may not be the line for long.
