We kicked off the weekend with a cash on all three legs of our +496 parlay. We’ll look to replicate that success on Sunday. We have some NRFI bets for August 9.
The action gets kicking on Sunday in the early afternoon and carries through the night. Come check out what we have cooked up for this slate of games.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – August 9
Cleveland Guardians vs. Chicago White Sox
First Pitch – 2:10 pm EST
Rate Field – Chicago, IL
Broadcast – MLB TV
Kicking off this NRFI is one of the worst teams at the plate. The Guardians are one of three teams in the league that come in under the 4.00 runs per game mark. In fact, their offense is a big part of why they’re just 7-14 since the All-Star break. Facing Davis Martin isn’t likely to help that. While he had a rough last outing, that was largely due to facing the red-hot Red Sox at the wrong time. Even with those stats gumming up the works, he has a respectable 4.14 ERA on the year and he’s seen an uptick in his strikeouts over the last month.
To close out this NRFI, we have a team that is quite a bit better at the plate. The White Sox aren’t kicking around the top five of any major category, but they are comfortable above average. That means we have plenty of faith in the man toeing the rubber on Sunday for Cleveland – Joey Cantillo. In his last two starts, Cantillo logged a 2.00 ERA and stuck out 13.0 batters per nine innings. That helped to lower his ERA to 3.87.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for August 9: No (-115)
Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers
First Pitch – 2:35 pm EST
Globe Life Field – Arlington, TX
Broadcast – MLB TV
There aren’t many offenses that are colder than the Orioles at the moment. Over their last three games, they’ve managed just three total runs. That number doesn’t look much better if you stretch it back over the last week. They’ve scored just 11 total runs in their last seven games (1.57 runs per game). That’s music to Kumar Rocker’s ears as he takes the hill on Sunday. He’s settled in nicely over his last three starts – allowing just five earned runs in 18.0 innings of work (a 2.50 ERA). Additionally, he’s racked up 18 strikeouts in that span and looked like the prospect the Rangers envisioned when they drafted him.
The Rangers offense isn’t exactly a ball of fire lately either. Over their last ten games, they’re putting up just 3.00 runs per game and have been held under five runs in seven of those games. Now, Cade Povich comes to town for his second start since coming off the Il with elbow inflammation. In his first one, all he did was log 6.0 scoreless while fanning seven batters. If he’s even a shadow of that version of himself, he should mow down this Rangers lineup.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for August 9: No (-110)
Bonus Pick: Rockies/Cardinals NRFI (-105)
