Indiana Fever vs Portland Fire
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
Things haven’t exactly gotten off on the right foot for the Portland Fire in their inaugural season, but that’s expected of expansion franchises. While the Fire’s 11-17 record isn’t the worst in the league, advanced stats rate them only above the Connecticut Sun, so losses could be incoming.
Hopefully one of those losses comes tomorrow night when the Fire host the Indiana Fever in Portland (sorry Fire fans, but this is business, not personal). It actually might be personal for the Fever, as the Fire got them by 16 points in their last meeting, but Caitlin Clark went 1-7 for six points in that game, and I’m not betting on that happening again (literally).
It also helps that the Fever have won four straight games, with the last three margins of victory landing in the double digits. After the requisite number crunching, I have Indiana as a 7.5-point favorite, so the Fever covering the spread on the road is my best bet for Friday.
