For the first time in history, the UFC octagon is setting up shop in Serbia this weekend for a Fight Night event. A native son is in the main event, going up against a fighter just sprung from a Mexican prison. Sometimes these things happen in MMA. UFC Fight Night: Medic vs Rodriguez (aka UFC Belgrade)
Start Time: 10:00 AM EST
If I’m reading things correctly, and normally I am, Saturday’s UFC Belgrade card is lining up to be another chalky affair in a record-breaking year for chalk. However, I’ve found at least a couple of dogs who look live to me for the card, including bantamweight Mark Vologdin, who is up against the debuting Borislav Nikolic.
Not only is Nikolic making his UFC debut this weekend, but he’s doing so on short notice, which is never a good path to securing a victory. On top of that, Vologdin is seven years younger yet has more high-level experience, having fought in the UFC and on Dana White’s Contender Series.
