MMA Same Game Parlay of the Week: UFC Abu Dhabi
UFC Abu Dhabi Light Heavyweight Fight: Magomed Ankalaev
Start Time: 9:00am EST (Paramount+)
In the main event, we have a pair of light heavyweights. While this division is known for their big knockout power and potentially short fights, Ankalaev has put up anything but that in his career. As a result, there is a good chance we’ll see both fighters put up some numbers on the strikes here.
In his 10 UFC fights, Ankalaev has only come up short of 35 significant strikes twice. One was the early knockout loss to Alex Perreira and the other was the no contest due to an illegal knee with Johnny Walker. Outside of those two outliers, he’s always down to rack up some strikes. It should be noted that the majority of those were three-round fights, where he should have five rounds to pick up 35 here.
Guskov is typically seen as a big knockout artist, which can make it hard to put up numbers. He’s finished three of his last four fights inside of two rounds. Still, he’s had at least 30 significant strikes in all but one of those fights – just his first round knockout of Nikita Krylov. If Ankalaev can stay as durable as he has for the bulk of his career, it’ll force Guskov to meet that number again.
