Daily World Cup Best Bets – July 9th

France vs. Morocco

Kickoff – 4:00 pm EST
Gillette Stadium – Foxborough, Massachusetts
Broadcast – FOX

France continues to be a tough team to wager on because of just how wide the lines are. Those lines make sense given just how good they’ve been. They looked dominant in just about every single game so far in this tournament. Even when conceding a goal to Norway in group play, they had already established a two-goal lead and had a brief letdown coming off of a goal of their own. Up until the round of 16, we hadn’t really seen any issues. However, it is that Paraguay game that gives us the avenue to find a winning line here.

Despite the high-powered attack led by Kylian Mbappe, France had trouble scoring when Paraguay loaded up the box. It took a 70th minute penalty kick in order to break the tie. When you look at how good Morocco has been on the back line, you can imagine a similar issue here for France. Morocco made Canada look like they had no ideas on offense and they largely shut down whatever the Netherlands could bring.

While I still expect France to advance here, the Morocco spread has a lot of value to it. I’m pairing that with a low scoring total.

Best Bets for France/Morocco: Morocco +1.5 (-210) and Under 2.5 Goals
