MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 117
UFC Fight Night: Allen vs Costa (UFC Vegas 117)
Main Card Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Featherweights take center stage on Saturday night, as the night’s top two fights feature 145-pound clashes. In the main event, I was pleasantly surprised to find my pick as an underdog.
That would be surging Brazilian Melquizael Costa, winner of six straight, with the last two ending inside the distance via strikes. While his opponent on Saturday, Arnold Allen, has faced a higher level of competition in the UFC, he has also peaked, losing three of his past four.
Costa is a more dangerous finisher, younger, and a better striker, as well as a more willing grappler. I love him at plus money.
