Daily NBA Player Props – April 23rd
CJ McCollum – Over 19.5 Points (-103)
McCollum may have closed the regular season with a scoring average a bit below this number, but that hasn’t been the case since the postseason started. Not only has he crushed this number, but he is averaging 29 points per game. A lot of that is that they’ve taken the leash off and let McCollum shoot. He’s had 20+ attempts in both playoffs games. During the regular season, when McCollum had at least 20 shot attempts, he averaged 30.9 points per game. I’d say he’ll be closer to that number that the projection given.
Sandro Mamukelashvili – Over 5.5 Rebounds (+125)
Another spot that has been different since the start of the postseason has been the rebounding from Mamukelashvili. He was already 7-4 against this line to close the regular season, but since then he’s put up 8 and 10 rebounds respectively. He’s logging more minutes with a tall Cleveland team on the court. I think he’ll get enough burn to hit this for a third straight time.
Christian Braun – Over 11.5 Points (-116)
Braun is also out shooting his projections on a nightly basis. Not only is he 2-0 against this number in the postseason, but he closed the season 4-1 against this number in his last five games. He may be shooting a touch less that during the regular season, but he’s been driving and getting to the line more frequently. That should help him get over the dozen mark on Thursday.
