When it comes to low-hanging goal scorer selections, none is lower-hanging than the Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon. The Avs’ star has pretty much led the league in goal scoring from the jump this season, and his 45 goals are five clear of Cole Caufield, who sits in second place.
With “only” five goals in his past 10 games, and two in his last five, MacKinnon is due for another hot streak. Let’s have that start tomorrow in Washington.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs Calgary Flames
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Like MacKinnon, the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Nikita Kucherov is another player known more for his playmaking who has been lighting the lamp on his own this season. Kucherov’s 38 goals are tied for third-most in the league this year.
And Kucherov has upped his scoring pace of late, netting seven goals over his last 10 games, and four over his past two games heading into action on Saturday night.
