The madness of March has descended upon us. Kinda, sorta. While the NCAA Tournament proper doesn’t get underway until Thursday, the First Four began today (Tuesday). And while none of the spreads on Tuesday were to my liking, I’m in on one for tomorrow’s action. #11 Miami (OH) Redhawks vs #11 SMU Mustangs
Start Time: 9:15 PM EST
We didn’t have to wait until the NCAA Tournament to get our Cinderella story this season, as the Mid-American Conference’s Miami (OH) Redhawks attempted to run the table and enter March Madness undefeated. Spoiler alert – they didn’t accomplish the feat, dropping their first MAC Tournament game to Massachusetts.
Then the story switched to whether the Redhawks would get an at-large bid to the tournament, which they kinda, sorta did. Or didn’t. Depends on your perspective. Miami (OH), seeded #11, will face fellow #11 SMU Mustangs on Wednesday for an entry into the field of 64.
And, sadly for fans of Cinderella, I predict the Redhawks won’t make the Big Dance. After my number crunching, my line for this matchup tomorrow night is SMU -12, so not only will the Mustangs win, but they’ll cover.
