Cornell vs. Yale

Start Time: 11:00 AM EST

This game is in the semifinal round of the Ivy League conference tournament, and it’s being played at a neutral site in Ithaca, NY. This is a neutral site in name only. The tournament is held here, but it’s Cornell’s home floor.

Cornell enters this game with a 15-12 overall record and an 11-14 mark overall against the spread. Yale comes into this game with a 23-5 overall mark and an 11-15 record overall ATS.

Cornell and Yale played twice this year, with each team winning and covering on their own home floor. The Big Red were a 4.5-point underdog at home against Yale and won outright. The game against Yale was the only time this year that Cornell was an underdog at home. Cornell is also 2-1 as an underdog ATS against Ivy League opponents.

The Big Red plays at a breakneck pace and can really shoot. Cornell plays at the 12th fastest pace in the country. They’re also the 11th-best team in the nation in three-point shooting percentage, and have the 10th-best shooting percentage on two-point shots. This version of Yale doesn’t really defend all that well. The Bulldogs are 220th in three-point shooting percentage against.

Cornell doesn’t really try to defend. Their whole system is predicated on scoring, getting the ball back, and scoring again. However, Cornell gets to play on their floor with their sight lines. The Big Red should have the early advantage, and they’ve already beaten and covered against Yale in Ithaca. Let’s roll with Cornell to keep this one close. Make sure you get the full 3.5 points. The hook may matter here.

Best Bet: Cornell +3.5

Wisconsin at Michigan

Start Time: 1:00 PM EST

This game is in the semifinal round of the Big Ten conference tournament, and it’s being played at a neutral site in Chicago, IL.

Wisconsin enters this matchup with a 24-9 overall record and a 19-14 mark ATS. Michigan comes into this game with a 30-2 overall mark and a 15-17 overall record ATS.

These two teams played once in conference play. Wisconsin beat Michigan in Ann Arbor as an 18.5-point underdog.

Wisconsin beat Washington and Illinois to get another head-to-head matchup with the Wolverines. Michigan snuck past Ohio State to advance in the Big Ten conference tournament.

Michigan is a metrics darling and a nightmare matchup for most teams. The Wolverines are one of the best shooting teams in the country. They also have one of the top defenses in the nation. However, Michigan got clipped by Wisconsin because the Badgers have a solid, veteran back court, and just enough muscle on the interior to bang with Michigan’s bigs. The Badgers need a crazy shooting game to stay competitive, but Wisconsin is one of the best free-throw shooting teams in the nation, and they’re capable on the defensive end.

This play will need a hot start by Wisconsin and a slow start by the Wolverines. There’s also a chance that Michigan doesn’t go all out here. The Wolverines know they have a one-seed locked up, and don’t really need to win the conference tournament. The back door should be open here, and Wisconsin has proven the ability to walk through it. Michigan hasn’t been a team to cover double-digit spreads, especially in conference play. Let’s lock up Wisconsin to keep this one within the 12.5 points.

Best Bet: Wisconsin +12.5

Tulsa vs. Wichita State

Start Time: 5:30 PM EST

This game is in the semifinal round of the Conference USA conference tournament, and it’s being played at a neutral site in Birmingham, AL.

Tulsa enters this game with a 26-6 overall record and a 16-14 mark ATS. Wichita State comes into this matchup with a 21-10 overall record and a 20-10 mark ATS.

These teams played twice in conference play this year. Each team won and covered on its home floor.

The handicap here is simple. This is a fade of Tulsa off a triple overtime game against North Texas. Wichita State hasn’t played in six days, while Tulsa struggled to get past the Mean Green.

Wichita State is chippy on defense. The Shockers can defend the perimeter and the inside. However, Wichita State isn’t a great offensive team. They can score, but they rely on second-chance points and turnovers to get additional possessions. The Shockers have a clear advantage on the boards and have much fresher legs. This is likely a one-possession game, and there’s a chance that Tulsa could fade in the second half after playing heavy minutes yesterday. Lock up Wichita State to cover as a short underdog.

Best Bet: Wichita State +1.5
