Florida Panthers vs Detroit Red Wings

It feels wrong to be picking the Detroit Red Wings to beat the back-to-back defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers, but these aren’t your typical Florida Panthers this season. And the same can be said about the Detroit Red Wings.
It turns out that that Aleksander Barkov guy is pretty good, eh? We all knew that already, but the absence of the Panthers’ captain this season has really hurt the team. They are not only near the bottom of the NHL’s Eastern Conference standings in terms of points, but also in terms of advanced stat rankings.
As for the Red Wings, they’re pretty, pretty good. Currently sitting at 77 points, Motown’s finest are on pace for their best season since 2011/12, which is a very long time ago.
Already having beaten the Panthers once in their only meeting this season, I think the Wings get the job done again on their home ice tomorrow night.
