Unless the Portland Trail Blazers erase a 42-point deficit in the next five minutes or so and cover the spread against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, my modest three-game winning streak will be snapped. Orlando Magic vs Phoenix Suns
Start Time – 5:00 PM EST
Handicapping Saturday’s short slate of NBA games is made more difficult by a bunch of unplayable spreads and a bunch of tanking teams. Plus, the expected level of star players missing games due to injury (in this matchup, that would be Devin Booker and Franz Wagner).
I’m going with the Magic in this one, on the road. They’ve been playing very well lately, sans Wagner, and my line is only Phoenix -0.5.

Sacramento Kings vs San Antonio Spurs
Start Time – 8:00 PM EST
Finally, I guess I’ll make a play on the San Antonio Spurs despite the massive spread for their game against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.
The Kings have closed up shop for the season, with all their ‘star’ players (notice the quotation marks around star) mysteriously obtaining season-ending injuries recently. My line is San Antonio -19.5, so I’ll go with the home side.
