Winter Olympics Best Bet For Tuesday (February 17th): Men’s Hockey Predictions
France vs Germany
Start Time: 6:10 AM EST
Round-robin play is over, and it’s now nut-cutting time in the men’s hockey tournament at the Winter Olympics. Eight teams will be vying for a spot in the quarterfinals in tomorrow’s qualification round. Two of those teams would be France and Germany.
France totally had the doors blown off in Group A, dropping all three of their games by a combined score of 20-5. Not having any NHL-caliber goalies (or any players, for that matter) will do that to a team.
Germany, despite having not only NHL players but NHL stars on their roster, didn’t fare much better in Group C, only managing one win. However, Germany has a good draw getting France in the qualification round.
Ottawa Senator Tim Stuetzle (or Stützle, you choose) has led the way for Germany, netting a (tied for) tournament best four goals thus far (his teammates have only managed a combined three). I expect Stuetzle to find the net tomorrow, as well as his superstar teammate, Leon Draisaitl.
