After a rare week off, the UFC is up and running again this weekend, with the Octagon on the road, setting up in the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. But we have middleweights in the main event, so it may as well be an Apex fight card. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Houston, I’ve got your winner for that aforementioned main event. UFC Fight Night: Strickland vs Hernandez (aka UFC Houston)
Main Card Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Former UFC Middleweight Champion Sean Strickland headlines another card (yawn), this time facing top prospect Anthony Hernandez. Despite the fairly wide odds, this fight could be much closer than it appears on paper.
Strickland has a way of making any fight he’s in boring and, therefore, winnable. However, I think Hernandez’s non-stop motor and pressure grappling and wrestling will win this fight for him. If Dricus du Plessis can get Strickland down seven times in the two fights they had, Hernandez can do the same.
