I’m going to have to utter the most dreaded words in the sport of MMA – the UFC Apex. Yes, the UFC is back in its home gym this week for a Fight Night Card. However, in terms of the Apex slop that we’re accustomed to being served, this one is of a higher quality. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 113, I’ve got the winner for the flyweight co-main event. Let’s go!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 113
UFC Fight Night: Bautista vs Oliveira (aka UFC Vegas 113)
Main Card Start Time: 8:00 PM EST (Paramount+)
After almost 10 years outside of the promotion, top flyweight contender Kyoji Horiguchi made a triumphant return to the octagon last November, tapping out Tagir Ulanbekov. The Japanese fighter will have to win at least one more fight before getting a title shot, as he’s up against #6-ranked Amir Albazi this weekend.
And I think Horiguchi outclasses the Iraqi fighter wherever this fight takes place. Horiguchi is the better, more powerful, and more active striker, with better defense. And on the mat, Horiguchi is at least the equal of Albazi, if not better.
