What is Kalshi? It’s a federally regulated, web-based prediction market where users trade contracts on the outcomes of real-world events. It functions almost like a stock exchange for future events, and covers topics from economic data and politics to sports and entertainment. The CFTC regulates Kalshi as a financial exchange and allows trading on ‘yes or no’ contracts that provide a fixed payout. The prices change like stocks instead of odds makers adjusting books. Kalshi also has NCAA men’s basketball futures listed, and we’ve found a few plays that you’ll want to add to your portfolio.

NCAA Men’s Basketball Futures Market Best Bets From Kalshi
SEC Regular Season Champion
Best Bet: Arkansas: Yes – $0.13
For context, a $10 future on Arkansas to win the SEC Regular Season at $0.13 would pay $77.
The Razorbacks are about to enter a section of their schedule in which they’re likely to go on a run. Arkansas just beat Vanderbilt in Fayetteville, but they have home games against LSU, Kentucky, Auburn, Missouri, and Texas A&M over the next month. They have to go on the road to Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas A&M, and LSU. There’s a non-zero chance that they could go 8-1 over the next month. The only obvious loss on the schedule is a trip to Tuscaloosa.
Arkansas is currently 4-2 in SEC play. They’re in a second-place blob with Georgia and Kentucky. The Razorbacks are only one game behind Florida and Texas A&M. The Aggies will stumble over the next month, and Florida has trips to Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas. Arkansas also has a head-to-head matchup in The Swamp that could decide the SEC regular-season champion.
If nothing else, the odds on Arkansas are likely to rise over the next month, and it’s possible to profit without a regular-season championship for the Razorbacks. This is a small play that could keep your Kalshi portfolio in the green.
Big Ten Regular Season Champion
Best Bet: Michigan: Yes – $0.43
For context, a $10 future on Michigan to win the Big Ten Regular Season at $0.43 would pay $24.
Nebraska is currently the odds-on favorite to win the Big Ten. The Cornhuskers still have to go to Minnesota, Michigan, Rutgers, Iowa, and make a West Coast trip. They also have to play Illinois and Purdue in Lincoln. Nebraska is undefeated now, but they’re going to stumble in conference play, and Michigan is only one game behind them.
Michigan has to go to Michigan State, Purdue, and Illinois, but the rest of their in-conference home games should be wins. If the Wolverines can win at least two of their tough road games, they should be in play for the Big Ten regular-season championship. We’ve also seen the odds on Michigan dip over the past four months. This is technically a buy-low spot on the Wolverines. This is the price that makes sense to jump in on Michigan to win the regular season.
American Athletic Conference Regular Season Champion
Best Bet: South Florida: Yes $0.23
For context, a $10 future on South Florida to win the American Athletic Conference Regular Season at $0.23 would pay $44.
South Florida currently has the 3rd-best odds to win the AAC on Kalshi. The Bulls already have a win at Tulsa and still have to play Florida Atlantic twice. They’ve lost a pair of overtime games in conference play and currently sit at 3-2. They’re 1.5 games behind Florida Atlantic, but South Florida has yet to get a crack at these Owls.
Tulsa is listed with the second-best odds on Kalshi, but the Golden Hurricane has a lot of tough matchups ahead. They have to travel to Florida Atlantic, South Florida, Wichita State, and Tulane. Tulsa also still has to play North Texas, Wichita State, and UAB in Tulsa. There are a lot of potential landmines on their schedule, and they’re due to regress in the second half. Most pundits didn’t have Tulsa in the top three in the AAC this year, and their lack of size will likely become more of an issue as the season wears on.
South Florida has one of the more talented rosters in the AAC, and they’ve underachieved a bit so far. They have a chance to really turn their season around if they can sweep the series with Florida Atlantic. It’s still early in conference play, and the Bulls can chart their own course if they rack up a few wins against an overachieving Florida Atlantic team. These odds are also likely to rise as the conference schedule rolls on, and South Florida is a future you’ll want to have in your Kalshi portfolio.
