Are you like many out there and are bored by the same old odds that you get on every sportsbook? Or maybe you’re sick of the prepackaged parlays that books try to hit you with that never really hit. Well, if you’re ready to ditch the old, musty ways of the sportsbooks, then you should try out prediction markets with Kalshi. Unlike sportsbooks, Kalshi allows you to trade your positions and to do so on just about anything imaginable. You can make predictions on sport, but also weather predictions, politics predictions, and pop culture predictions as well. Come check out what Kalshi is all about!
How to Play with Kalshi
Unlike many of the other ways people attempt to make money predicting the outcome of events, Kalshi is a true prediction market. There are many benefits to a prediction market versus a sportsbook. Firstly, there are so many more options for what you can make predictions on. Want to guess how high BitCoin will get this year? Can you guess who will visit the White House next? Maybe you’re ready to make a prediction about the color of the Gatorade in the National Championship game. All of that is possible through Kalshi.
Not only is Kalshi a place with diverse options for predictions, but they function in a fundementally fairer way. There is more transparency and truth because those driving the numbers are those with skin in the game. By working the wisdom of the crowd in this way, they actually are more accurate that most polls or hand selected betting lines – plus they are not being manipulated by people behind the scenes.
So how do you make money with Kalshi?
When you’ve located a market you’d like to make a prediction in, you buy in on a side. The cost of that yes or no answer will be somewhere between 1 and 99 cents based on how likely it is to come true. Once you’ve pruchased your side, you can make money in two ways. Firstly, you can hold your position and if it comes true, than each share is worth $1. You can also sell your position as it rises and falls in hopes of getting the best value out of what you predicted.

Kalshi Prediction Markets – December 10th
Who will be on TIME’s 2025 Person of the Year Shortlist?
Time Magazine is about to drop their person of the year announcement. While the markets seem to have cornered who they expect to win that one, the spots in their shortlist are still well up for grabs. Once thought to be a no-doubter is Pope Leo XIV. He hung out right at 93% likely for the bulk of the month of December and just now came plummeting back to Earth.
You might have been smart to sell your position of Pope Leo XIV already. However, if you weren’t on it, the time to buy could be now. With shares sitting at just 15 cents to pay a dollar, you’d look like a genius to be holding a slew of shares if he does in fact come through.
NFL – Offensive Player of the Year Winner?
While you might want to get in now on the Pope for a potential payoff at the end, one place you might want to attack to possibly sell later in the Offensive Player of the Year market. For the bulk of this season, it looked like it was Jonathan Taylor’s world and we were all just along for the ride. However, the Colts have fallen apart quite a bit and are contemplating starting a 44-year old quarterback on Sunday. With that on the horizon, the price on Taylor is as low as it has been all season.
I’m not saying that he’s going to win the award. However, I do think he has the potential to put up a surprisingly big game given the circumstances Sunday. Finding the end zone once or twice and snagging some catches from an old man who needs to check down could make him look like a superstar this week. If so, I expect that price to skyrocket and you could find yourself the beneficiary of a quick sell off.
