Buffalo Sabres vs Winnipeg Jets
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
After being an elite regular-season team the past few years, the Winnipeg Jets have taken a step back this year, sitting with a mediocre 13-12-1 record. The loss of the reigning NHL MVP, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, for the last seven games after undergoing knee surgery certainly hasn’t helped their case. But the star netminder is nearing a return.
While Hellebuyck won’t be back tomorrow night when the Buffalo Sabres are in town, the good news is that it’s just the Buffalo Sabres in town. The Sabres are even more mediocre than the Jets are, with a below-average offence and an even worse defense. Plus, the Sabres are an abysmal 2-7-2 away from the Queen City.
The Jets should handle their business on home ice, and they’re my best bet for Friday.
