College Basketball Preview, Picks, and Best Bets for November 27
Matt Dewoskin ATS College Basketball Picks Record (Est 11/3/2025)
All ATS Selections: 41-30-1
Perfect 3-0 Cards: 3-20
St. Bonaventure at East Carolina
Start Time: 12:00 PM EST
This game is played in Fort Myers, FL as a part of the Fort Myers Tip-Off MTE.
This is one of the easiest plays on the board for November 27th. East Carolina has looked absolutely awful this year. The Pirates have a 3-point win over Georgia Southern and a 1-point win over Elizabeth City State. They’ve lost by double-digits to every other DI program they’ve played so far this year.
St. Bonaventure enters this matchup at 5-1. Their only loss came against North Carolina in a game in which the Bonnies lost by 15. This appears to be a solid bounce-back spot for a program with a stronger roster, capable of scoring, and a solid defense. East Carolina is currently in disarray. Until they stay within 10 points of a DI opponent, the Pirates are on autofade. Lock up the Bonnies to win by double digits after the loss to North Carolina.
Best Bet: St. Bonaventure -9
Washington at Nevada
Start Time: 4:30 PM EST
This game is played in Palm Springs, CA as a part of the Acrisure Holiday Classic.
Nevada comes into this game at 4-2. They’ve lost a home game to UC-Davis and a road game to Santa Clara. They have wins over UCSB, Southern Illinois, Pacific, and Louisiana Tech. They’ve competed against solid mid-majors, but have yet to play a Power-Five school.
Washington is 4-1 with their one loss coming against Baylor. They’ve beaten Washington State in Spokane, WA.
The play here is to fade Nevada. The Wolf Pack will struggle with the Huskies’ size down low. Washington also has multiple explosive scorers that Nevada lacks. Washington simply has a better roster and has played better basketball. Nevada lost on its only trip out of the Bat Cave, and the Huskies should roll here. Lock up Washington to win and cover the 5.5 points.
Best Bet: Washington -5.5
Duke at Arkansas
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
This game isn’t part of an MTE, but it is played as part of the CBS Sports Thanksgiving Classic. It will be played at the United Center in Chicago, IL.
Arkansas comes into this game at 5-1. They’ve beaten a few tomato cans, but struggled to get past Samford and Winthrop. The Razorbacks’ only loss came against another heavyweight in Michigan State. They hung with the Spartans, but ended up losing by three in East Lansing.
Duke enters this matchup at 7-0. They have wins in four buy games and a 12-point win over a diminished Kansas and a 15-point win over Texas. Both wins over Power-5 schools came in neutral-site games.
Duke has yet to be really tested in the same way that Arkansas has been tested. The Razorbacks went into East Lansing and went toe-to-toe with a fellow heavyweight for 38 minutes. Duke has beaten Kansas without its best player and a Texas team that doesn’t look like a real contender in the SEC. This is Duke’s first real test against a heavyweight at full strength. It’s played at a neutral site in a location that doesn’t really have strong feelings about either team, at least locally. Fan bases will travel, but it’s unlikely that this will sound like a home game for either team.
When it comes to the actual basketball. Both teams can score and defend. Duke is well-known for its five-star recruits. Arkansas has its own five-stars. Duke has size, shooting, and athleticism. Arkansas has size, shooting, and athleticism. Duke has one of the best rosters in the country, but the difference between the Blue Devils and the Razorbacks is less than 10.5 points. Duke wins this, but Arkansas will stay within the number. Lock up the Razorbacks and 10.5 points.
Best Bet: Arkansas +10.5
