Tampa Bay Lightning center Jake Guentzel entered action on Saturday as one of the NHL’s most unlucky players, with only two goals but an Expected Goal rate of 5.8, tied for third best in the league.
Well, the luck has swung back into his favor, as it was bound to do, as he netted two goals against Anaheim on Saturday. Let’s keep the hot streak going on Sunday.
San Jose Sharks vs Minnesota Wild
Start Time: 6:00 PM EST
One player who hasn’t needed any luck on his side this season is the Minnesota Wild’s Matt Boldy, who has five goals and an Expected Goal value of 5.5, among the highest in the NHL.
And there’s no reason why Boldy, who has topped out at 31 goals in a season, can’t keep this pace going, as his 14.7% Shooting Percentage isn’t particularly high for him.
