Colorado Avalanche vs Utah Mammoth
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
Someone is losing their zero tomorrow night in Salt Lake City (probably, since there are ties in the NHL), as the 5-0-1 Colorado Avalanche come to town to face the 4-2 (but 3-0 at home) Utah Mammoth. And I’m liking the visitors’ chances in this one.
The Avalanche have already faced – and beaten – the Mammoth this season, 2-1, in their second game of the year. Colorado is also a powerhouse squad again this year, making it the fifth straight season of them being an elite team. Not only do the Avalanche lead the league with 11 points, but the advanced stats like them as well, rating them as 1.89 goals per game better than the average team, second only to the Carolina Hurricanes’ 1.95.
Utah is good, but not on Colorado’s level. Even with the home ice advantage, the Avalanche rates as about a goal and a half better than the Mammoth tomrorow night. That would make Colorado on the moneyline my best bet for Tuesday.
